Dash Shaw is the noted penner of "Bottomless Bellybutton" and other great comic/sequential releases. This is a print that was organized through Desert Island.
It's a screenprint on white coverstock paper that Dash then took and tore down/hand painted. It functions as the insert/cover for a zine/book he made called "Torture Hospital I"
(The 'guts' are depicted on the bottom. Dash designed the cover to match a 'zine' he produced and he assembled everything himself; he even hand painted each cover and tore down the prints. This is an example of a project where the artist was involved with the printed product to a higher degree than normal- but it was his baby all along anyhow.)
